Wow, this is a great lesson in why traveling and spending the extra dollar is worth it when it comes to our one and only penis. Thanks for the detailed review
@willy11 , and I'm going to break down each point and reveal what a prospective patient should see:
I went to see Dr Dantas in São Paulo. His clinic was not something I would call remotely impressive. I hate to judge a book by its cover but from the door knob literally falling apart and not being able to have a closed door meeting with him, to the choice of building and the office itself, it was all kind of weird and didn't look up to my standards. Instinctively I knew I wasn't going to feel comfortable doing anything with him. So I just picked his brain for the $50 consultation fee.
When it comes to cosmetic medicine, you SHOULD just a book by its cover; it's a lucrative market and any Doctor popular enough could afford renovating or relocating. Granted, when it comes to Medical Tourism, some reputable Clinics are located in less-than-ideal areas but when it comes to phalloplasty, you don't have to go far to find a modern, clean, and safe clinic.
His choices of fillers are some of which I have never heard of...Like Pluryal from England? Estranion is another HA brand he recommends...By the way you have to buy your own filler on some website and he charges about US$2000 to inject regardless of the quantity. I have been looking into you Ellanse, and he would apply that too but recommended 20cc right out the gate....Doesn't that sound a lot for Ellanse at once?
You should
never have to buy the product yourself; the Doctor ought to provide the product since (1) any wholesaler willing to sell direct to you shouldn't be trusted and (2) a Doctor is qualified to determine whether or not the batch of product is of medical-grade and legitimate (not the patient). Just a red flag to me.
I didn't appreciate his lack of privacy and confidentiality.....He mentioned the case of patient who had just walked out before I walked in, who I made eye contact with, and also the case of a guy who helps him in the office, who didn't look like a nurse but more someone who he hangs out with (weird dynamic). Weird for him to tell me how much the guy had done and how that changed his life....You don't know if any of these people want you telling about what they have done. That seems like a 101 rule in a doctor patient confidentiality.
Patient Confidentiality should be treated like the "nuclear codes" of the President in my opinion, and there is a reason HIPAA is a very serious matter in the States. The fact that this was breached so casually should automatically disqualify this Doctor.
He showed me numerous cases of PMMA and combinations of ligament surgery for lengthening in combination with PMMA, most of which looked bizarre in terms of size and lack of aesthetics.
And to top it all off, his Gallery of his best work wasn't even impressive.
Listen fellas, if you are in the market of HA, Ellanse, or PMMA and happen to reside in the Southern Hemisphere, just book a flight to Tijuana (which I'm sure has a connecting flight from Mexico City which is accessible from all over Latin America) and visit a Clinic that's not only modern, but has been renovated to be even nicer because business is that good. That's on top of the countless reviews that would make the trip worthwhile. While budget is important, so is your manhood.
